I have known Tex for many years as well & the late "CASH" his previous Blue healer who was even more impressive than Bundy,& had done a stack of work for charity in the most positive ways, They are true heroes in my book & the smiles on kids faces when they rock up to an event just fills you with emotion.
I am in awe that the law makers can be so unjust with their over regulatory rules & BS. its astounding that it even gets a mention as it would have to be the smallest percentage of road users that would come under this law

i would be curious to see the stats on accidents caused by dogs riding motorbikes.

youve got to oppose any rule that the government tries to bring in regarding motorcycles.
they just want to tighten the noose.
sure this week they might want to bring in a law that makes sense but the next week it will front number plates or banning bikes bigger than a postie etc etc. you cant trust the law makers they are ****s

My 2nd ever Muddaboik had a black and white border collie cross healer, as a tank emblem wherever I went. His name was flash! Back then, I stored my bike in the hallway of our ground floor flat. So my mates used to wait till I was pissed and then ask Flash ...."Wanna Go for a ride?" ................Flash would then go nuts till I took him. It was a ten minute process to get the thing down the Hallway, out through the foyer and down the two steps onto the footpath!! Then, I had to start it.....1984 Ducati 1000 Mille Desmo (yeah should never have sold it, they're worth a quid now). Then ...once started the Conti Pipes would wake the whole neighbourhood!!!

The worst thing was.....that Flash wouldn't accept just a run around the block, we would have to at least go to the beach and back, otherwise he would not get off the bike and would bark like mad!!! Fuggin little dictator he was!!!

Sorry. I won't be signing. The law is made for the lowest common denominator. I don't want to go for a ride and see every second bike with a dog on the tank. If every one did it the death rate for dogs and riders would be huge. However I feel like every law there should be exemptions available. These exemptions should not be given out easily. This would make people like Tex able to conitue their good work but keep the f@#%witts from trying to do it.
Like every one I should be allowed to view my opinion with out being condemed.
As for young children The number of times I see kids even over the age of eight being taken for a ride wearing a poor fitting helmet with "protective" T shirt and shorts makes me sick. Especially when the rider is usually in full gear. Just my thought but the pillion should have at least the same protective gear as the rider. If you care about the person on the back of the bike then at least show it.

Im not signing it..... Its stupid to put young children and dogs on motorcycles. Sure its a heartfelt story, and its cute.... but at the end of the day I say NO to animals on bikes.

I say let the people concerned make their own decision, carryout their own risk assesment and proceed accordingly. I have been taking my now 8 year old daughter on the back of my bike and she loves it, I also ride accordingly when doing so.

Tex and his dogs are an institution.

Absolutely. All of my kids have been taken for rides on bikes since they were little, even punted around on the tank in the street at a suitable speed.
I don't see the difference between a dog on a bike or a dog in a car without a seatbelt or a dog on the back of a ute.

I know loads of people who drove home drunk lots of time and got home perfectly safe so it must be fine too..... Just because some people can do it well, it doesnt mean it should be made available to the general public.

I think your kids probably love it... But should anyone just be allowed to do it? No, look at some of the wankers on the road on bikes and you will agree...

And in this case "I think we've had enough of do gooders trying to save ourselves from ourselves" doesnt appy... We are not talking about you, its about taking dogs and kids on bikes... neither of which would say no if asked, but cant be relied on for an informed decision.
