I usually give a double pump of the throttle when leaving and returning home. First one to 3,000 and the second to 4,000ish. More of a hello/goodbye thing then anything superstitous.

I always start the bike after I put my helmet on, but before my gloves. I always get on my bike from the left. There's a certain corner I can't help but "enjoy" when it's devoid of traffic, and I do my utmost to set the wifes car alarm off as I leave the driveway (gotta love a deep exhaust note).

I did the same thing back in 2001 - always had the same T-shirt on for every event. Never fell off, so it must have worked !!

Daily ritual ? Always put left boot on first. :? Sometimes I pat the tank on the Pearl after a huge strop. I know she appreciates the attention...... :kuda:

Before I saw this thread I was thinking to myself of the 2 trackday incidents I've had - a fall and a seizure, that both times my bikes were shiny and clean. But all the other trackdays I've done without having any dramas, the bikes were dirty. Another coincidence is DISCO, MrWasabi and shinynoggin were all there when I had the incidents, so I blame them as well. ;)

So my theory is clean/shiny bikes = trackday 'problems' :D So I just keep my bikes dirty now...

That's the same reason I wear mine, and it's worked so far. Mind you, I also wear the same helmet, boots, gloves and ride the same bike, so could be either of those things aswell. :D

Approximately once a week for the month or so I've been riding I put my helmet on, then gloves, then realise I've forgotten to do up the chin strap :x

Actually, I think that's called Alzheimers

uhm.... what was I talking about.......

I always turn the bike on first, then glasses off, earbuds in, helmet on, glasses back on, back protector on, jacket on, gloves on, get on the bike. Give it a couple of fistfuls of throttle as a "lets have a great day together!), Ipod on, then off we go. Get to the first corner, check the chinstrap, then settle in for the ride.

Always in that exact order!
Cheers,
Anne

You know reading all this, OCD definitely comes to mind... Wouldn't be surprised if they start puting health advisory signs on bikes.
"WARNING: Motorcycling may lead to obsessions with dirty shirts, chin straps and loud noises."

Upon seeing police car I have the ritual of looking to my speedometer.

In fact now that I am commuting on pushbike I did the same thing last week

Then take it all off and have a rest to regain your energy? :kuda:

I knew there was a reason I took the car and not the bike 2 mins down to woolies tonight to buy icecream. I could walk there before the bike even moved. 8)

The amount of stuff we go through just to start riding is testament to the fact we get a lot or pleasure and reward out of riding our bikes.
