KSRC QLD 'issues'
It was brought to my attention a long time ago that the reason QLD KSRC doesn't post up many rides or get togethers is because of bitching and infighting behind the scene.
Now, not being one to indulge in gossip, I decided I would make up my own mind. I have not attended a lot of QLD KSRC functions over the years I have been a member (due to personal crap and work) but I have attended a few, and I have witnessed the bullshit on several occasions now.
I have also had the pleasure of flying down to Melbourne for a few KSRC events, and even though I am sure that there is some whinging and moaning, the general spirit down there is NOTHING like it is here. In Melbourne I was welcomed by people I didn't know, offered accomodation, picked up from the airport and the crew in general was like one big family.
WTF is wrong with some of you Queenslanders? Where is the spirit of riding that ties us together as a united group? Where is the commeraderie and support. Instead there is constant bitching about people behind their backs, whinging and complaining about shit that someone did 10 years ago. 'He won't come on the ride because she won't ride with......'
Give me a break! As you would all know, I do not take this whole forum thing all too seriously- it is fun, it is entertainment, it is supposed to be an enjoyable way to bond with our peers, make some new buddies, get advice (good and bad) when we need it. I have met some amazing people on KSRC, some have changed my life forever, but I will be stuffed if I am spending my limited spare time with people who treat one another with such disdain.
Now before everyone starts defending themselves, I am not talking about EVERYONE. There are some great people up here. I am saying that a select few that like to bag people behind their backs ruin the whole culture here.
I have deliberated whether to just stop posting, or whether to actually bring this up. Not being one to back down from a challenge I have decided on the latter....

Re: KSRC QLD 'issues'
ahhh yeah we had a car club in tassie which was exactly the same. It does take alot of effort and interest to make everything work and come together. But we have a perfect platform here and as long as there is some support from the members then it will work out! I guess we all just need to work out some sort of structure or perhaps have a monthly or fortnightly meet up at least. Plus there is no reason why we couldnt get as many members as NSW or VIC!
only 2 more sleeps to go and i will be up that way! I hope we are still having a ride somewhere to show me the good spots, i am very exctied to meet all my fellow KSRC brethren.
Hoffy is right too, it could be very good up in QLD way!
Either way i fully support you black magic and hope we can work together and make something of QLD!

Re: KSRC QLD 'issues'
Everything moves in cycles...
The old cycle that was QLD KSRC has moved onto other things. A new cycle needs to form and I think there's some solid people up there that can do this (yourself included BM).
I am guilty of mocking you guys but i do so because I know it can be better (the poeple who know me up there, know that i do this tongue-in-cheek and i mean no offence).
Bit busy to go into it any further atm, but all the members just need to keep trying - eventually those negative forces will drop off.

Re: KSRC QLD 'issues'
So how about we start a fortnightly coffee meeting somewhere central so both north and southsiders can get there.
And a great start would be if the gossip mongers and whiners stopped bitching about others and have the guts to discuss issues with people face to face. I will not waste my time hanging with people that bag other people out once they have left a get-together. Actually, I have seriously considered not posting on the forum anymore.
None of you know the details of other peoples circumstances. What gives you the right to pass judgement on people you hardly know? How do you know that when you leave a bbq or ride that everyone isn't bagging you out too? Is that why you joined the biking community to carry on like bored housewives? Or do you want a tight knit community that can rely and trust on one another and enjoy each others company! I'm pissed......
Some of you need to be on the Sesame Street forum

Wendy, it is wonderful that you have stepped up to the plate & bought up the topic, if you guys have issues than they need to be dealt with then move on, beats the innuendo & backstabbing.

Re: KSRC QLD 'issues'
This is why I decided to say something publicly. I am a very straight up person- what you see is what you get. It makes me really sad to see this crap going on. When I started riding, it was the community spirit as much as my love of riding that attracted me (well, that and those hot leather clad butts, but I digress......)robracer wrote:Wendy, it is wonderful that you have stepped up to the plate & bought up the topic, if you guys have issues than they need to be dealt with then move on, beats the innuendo & backstabbing.
I am at the point where I would rather not attend QLD KSRC functions. This is not a 'QLD' thing as such, all of my other riding buddies up here are amazing. It seems to be some festering thing with KSRC here, and it started a long time ago.
If people stop buying into the shit we can fix it.

Re: KSRC QLD 'issues'
There is probably a small amount of these goings on in every state but with NSW & VIC having so many members it would seem to get hidden & definitely is not in the spotlight as is the case with QLD. I am unsure if it wise to do this publicly or behind closed doors to minimise the likelihood of members leaving because of what might be said or miss interpretation by members & non members. This might have to go to the admins for discussion before proceeding Wendy.

Damn, who would have thought ego's were bigger in QLD than NSW?!
Most of the Syd folk are kewl for the execption of Hoff and that Madkraw dude
Sort it out, build a bridge and get on with life (and riding)

Probs the best answer! Great idea to start a fortnightly meet. Gives you a chance to sit and chat. Sorry to hear its got to this stage but at least its out in the open. Letting things stay idle for too long is never good. Life's to short for schoolyard nonsense...hoffy wrote:just give em the Kuda, and tell em to fark off..works for me
