Ouch, good luck with it mate and hope you heal up well and a speedy recovery
Lesson for all of us here, Crashing hurts! So dont do it!

What about the bike was it insured ? Will it be repaired or going to the scrap ?

I was expecting "the other" snip too :)

How did it go Nelso?

Whenever I'm around hospital staff/doctors etc I always end up raving about how great everything they do is. Our lives ares much easier because of the knowledge and experience they command.

Yeah I noticed the "At Fault Cover" thing when I registered my bike, struck me that it's the people who probably need it (bike owners) that don't get the cover. Interestingly It's also those people who aren't injuring OTHER people at all; Per rider, how often does a bike rider kill a car driver or a pedestrian (3rd party)!? How about the reverse!? Would be an interesting statistic.

It's actually the pillion passengers that we injure that drive CTP premiums for bikes through the roof. Some states (QLD for instance) offer very cheap CTP if you convert your bike to a single-seater.

I too thought that "snip snip" meant you would be holding a packet of frozen peas against your pink bits for a couple of days! Turns out no so...

I hope the op went well Nelso!
Cheers,
Anne

Ok, I'm back out. Just got out today as the doc wasn't happy with the way things were going and kept me in another night. He took another 700ml out during the op and they drained another 650ml while I was in there. He said it was a lot worse than he expected and that I had done a fair bit of damage to my back muscles. Unfortunately I accidentally pulled the drain out when I got up half asleep to go to the loo in the early hours of this morning (when I walked off without taking the bag with me). Since then it has started to fill up again. :x So now it's a waiting game to see how much it will swell up and how long it will take to recover.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I have come to the realisation that I still want a road bike so when the insurance lets me know what they are doing I will be probably be looking around for a Rex.
