Kawasaki Riders Club - Gone.!

Post by MadKaw »

From the Kawasaki.com.au site..

15 January 2009
Dear Kawasaki Riders Club and Team Green Members,
In order to focus and allocate funds on other projects in 2009, Kawasaki has decided
to suspend the Kawasaki Riders Club and Team Green club.
Kawasaki will continue to notify the public of all upcoming Demo Ride Days, Sale
Days, special offers and promotions, racing news and new model information via
the Kawasaki website and dealer network.
Kawasaki would like to thank all of the Riders Club and Team Green members for
their support of the brand. Kawasaki realises that in the case of some members, this
support has been ongoing for many years. Riders Club and Team Green members
affected by the suspension of the clubs may be pleased to know that Kawasaki is
heading in an exciting direction in 2009 and seeks your continued support as we
motor through this economically challenging period.
Please feel free to forward any enquiries to info@kawasaki.com.au
Thank You,
Dave

Not that they did anything anyway, but how short sighted are the marketing lot at Kawasaki.

I doubt very much whetehr they would have had any members anyway other then the freebies who get twelve months when you buy a new bike

Did that "club" actually ever do anything for its members anyway? I think I was a member, never heard anything from there other than about 3 years ago I was offered GP tickets in the stands...

I think this means no "coporate" tent at the Gp's and supers, they really didn't do much else and that wasn't very popular...

There was always more Kawi supporters at turn 1 anyway... :-)

You will probably find they hire the tent from Phillip Island.

When it started it had a track day with demo models to ride, a weekend away at the end of the year which was heavily subsidised, box seating for the supercross in major cities as well as the hospitality tents for the GP and WSB. It also had a glossy magazine every couple of months. The last 5 years or so they offered 2/3's of F all.

The site at the Island will sting you if you want them to set up a tent. You will find that you will have to have it in the official site as well. Anything bigger than a small shade tent would incure a sizable rental fee not only for the tent but also the ground coverage similar to the site costs in the expo tent or corperate area. If the tent is too big and you are not paying for it then the authorities at the Island will more than likely make you take it down claiming that it obstructs the views of others (meaning they are not making money off you).
