ZX6/ZX9 fairing interchangability

Hi,

I was told that the headlight from the 98-99 ZX6R is the same as the ZX9R C1/C2 headlight, but I was wondering if any of the fairings were also interchangable.

Reason being is there is potentially a very cheap set of race glass available for a 98 model ZX6R, and I can't for the life of me remember if they would fit the 9 or not. I'm thinking no, but I thought I'd just ask (even if it is a bit of a silly question)

G'day James,

I think what you've heard about the light is correct, but the fairings are different (although not toooooooo different). I've seen somebody with 6 fairings (road fairings) on his 9 - they didn't fit quite right but he did get them to fit.

How cheap is cheap and how much work are you prepared to do???

Hi mate,

It was $120 for a full set of ZX6R race glass, and another spare front - and they were only 30 minutes drive from me, too.

Unfortunately the owner of them finally got back to me late yesterday afternoon and they had already sold.

On the bright side im pretty sure they wouldnt fit. My wife and i have a 00 zx9r and a 01 zx6r. They look identical, but the plastics are actually quite different. Maybe the rear ducktail will fit, but the rest... sorry to say.. dont think so.
