Air Filter
Ok, i just bought the Z1000 and I need to know where the air filter is and how to get to it ??

Sure do,
The air filter is basically located under the seat. When you lift the rider seat off, undo the fuel tank and the bracket that holds the tank down, lift the tank up and look down where the seat would be.
There you will see a little snorkel looking thing with 4 bolts in each corner. Thats the top of the airbox cover!
Take the 4 bolts out, wriggle the cables around and swear and curse while you do it so i am not the only one that did that! Once you take the cover off, take note of the way the filter slots in and keep the rubber seal which will prob lift out also.

Are you thinking of getting a new "race" style filter? I put a BMC in and did the airbox mod and i was pleased with the results!

Thanks Saki,it's supposed to have a K&N filter in it so I just wanna have a look.

Have u considered doing the "Airbox Mod" thats where u rip it open and get more air in there. I have done it and mine roars now! I reckon its given it some more kick also!Peter wrote:It's still got the little hole with the cover thingy.
