Traffic also has some thing to do with it as you are not usually at optimum revs for a gear chamge but the traffic means you do it. I find if I ride the 9 and the ZRX in traffic I start to think its time to check the chain as the gear change is getting a bit notchy and then as soon as there is no traffic its all sweet again.

Bloody traffic

[flash=] [/flash] This is more an occasional clunk rather than notchy Phil, but I have noticed that the gear change can also have a two movement sort of feel to it which also concerned me a little. But, a mechanic I talked to where I bought the bike, brought the subject up before I had a chance to mention it to him, and said a two movement kinda feel to the gear change is normal with Z1000's ??

i put Motul 5100 in my Z but havent ridden it yet but will let you know. I had Repsol in there and never had a clunk!

ZX10R crim 04 like i had was a bit of a clunker, but felt like it was a pretty solid gearbox!
