Dude, dont you think I have fines sussed yet....

it remains on the wesite for an additional 4 months for administrative and website purposes..its stupid I know but thats the way it is, it stays on the website for that additional time, I dont know exactly why and think it's stupid too, but it does !

If you request a copy of your driving record it will not be on there if more than exactly 3 years ago..the website is not a legal document, it's a guide..maybe this is done to cover their ass in an administrative way..

I have spoken to the Manager at Castle Hill RTA exactly re this issue  Relax people its still 3 years.

some important quotes:
The law permits the counting of demerit points for offences of any age but suspension can only be applied if the dates the offences were committed are within 3 years of each other
The 40-month period exists to ensure that delays between an infringement taking place and the RTA being notified of the infringement are taken into account
If you obtain a copy of your driving record, all your offences and demerit points will be displayed because this accurately reflects your driving history.

>>>>>>>>>>>THE WEBSITE IS NOT A COPY OF YOUR DRIVING RECORD !! It is a guide and not updated as rigourosly as a requested for and paid for driving record<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

willing to lay $5 grand on this...any takers ?? :)

Why do I struggle to make a mental picture of this ??

as far as the 3 year thing is concerned......the points rack up from the date that the fine is paid, not the date of the actual offence. At least thats how it works here in Anarchy Road. It can catch out the unwary.....

As far as total points lost over driving history ??? shit I can't even remember how many 3-month disqualifications I have had, apart from the longer ones (longest being a tad over 2 years when the licence was suspended - 'At the discretion of the Court'.....( remember asking the bailiff what this actually meant when the sentence was handed down - she just sort of glared at me and said - you may never see your licence again.....)

All up, since commencing driving/riding in 1979, I now have about 92 traffic offences and 1/2 a dozen 'other' ones  , and the rap sheet now runs to 6 A4 pages. Its a real bitch attending court .... but it would be nice to finish a driving career with the Don's average !!!!

April I get 3 back and a month later another 3 , sitting on 11 for quiet some time now , hence very little riding on the road and cruise control in the car . To the extent of using cruise in a 70 zone around Melb that has camera cars regularly parked along it .
Why do I go racing ??? Cheaper than driving on the roads . 5 or 6 suspensions and no idea how many tickets in 32 yrs . And they trot out the whole lot for the Beak , very  even when some things he mentioned were 30 yrs old FFS .
The Beak as quoted in the Hamilton newspaper "Newton has an atrocious driving record and seems to have an inability to stay within the speed limit " The article has been enlarged and is stuck on my fridge
Ummmm let me see

DOH! I went the 0 but should have gone the 12, should have read the bloody thong before voting... here in Mexico if you lose all your points you get the option of a bond and can ride/drive for 12 months as long as you don't lose a point. The reason for this is we depemd heavily on our speed camera revenue so that gives you a chance to blow a bit more $ before you're suspended.

I have been extraordinarily lucky with points! I am a bit of a leadfoot, but I pick my places to put on the extra bit of speed. Having said that, around the corner from home is a one way section of road at the bottom of the Gaza Rd offramp. The QPS are there a few times a month, and always have cars pulled over. I go through that section of road just about every day, and stupidly have been caught there a couple of times. I was caught there once, just not thinking and late for an appointment, 76km in a 60km zone - fair enough. Second and third time I was caught there, I was still working for QAS and was running late for work. I was in uniform, and was let off both times even though I was doing 72km & 75km/hr. (3 times in 6 years, you would think I would have learnt by now....) Thankfully the Prado has cruise control, so I use that a lot now :) Touch wood I have never yet been caught speeding on the bike. Currently, I have all my points (or no points, thanks to Aardy's explanation), fingers crossed it stays that way!
Cheers,
Anne
