Motorcycle rider assaulted in Rosemeadow
22/12/2008 9:57:00 AM
Campbelltown police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a motorcycle rider was assaulted and his machine stolen on Sunday night in Rosemeadow.
Shortly before 1am a 27-year-old man stopped his motorcycle in Copperfield Drive near the intersection with Macbeth Way to have a cigarette.
As the man was approached by group of 10 men he became concerned and removed the key from the ignition.
He was then struck in the head with his own helmet that had been placed on the motorcycle.
The man fell to the ground and was punched.
The group pushed the motorcycle firstly into Copperfield Drive and then to Malcolm Way.
Police were contacted but a search of the area failed to locate the motorcycle or the group involved.
The Kawasaki motorcycle is black and has a NSW registration of SAY – 09.
A description has been provided to police of two of the group.
One man is aged between 20 and 22-years-old, 182cm tall with a medium build and short, dark, thick hair.
At the time he was wearing a cream hooded jumper.
The second male was described as a teenager with a heavy build and wearing a red shirt.
Anyone with information about the incident can contact Campbelltown Police on 4620 1199 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Just confirms my theory - people (in general) are arseholes.

Forgive quickly,
Kiss slowly,
Love truely,
Laugh uncontrollably,
And NEVER regret anything that made you smile.'

Feel for the guy. Thieving scum.
on the flip side....
Makes me consider rethinking whether or not to light up a ciggy in the middle of the block with five dollar note haning out my pocket is actually a good idea.

Re: Kawasaki rider assaulted - bike stolen
Even if you payed me to stop there at that time i wouldnt.
I grew up in the campbelltown area and living there teaches you one thing, dont ever stop for a ciggy anywhere in campbelltown at 1am
by yourself on a bike because they literally come out of the wood work an they are always in numbers.
feel sorry for the dude though.
