Hows this for timing...boys 02-9 has just started doing the same thing.. appears to be running on 3.. then he stops.. starts n all is fine. Last time.. it was doing the 3... 3/4 the way to the mechanic it behaves it self again.

Will flick this info onto the boy.......

Gotta love the 9.......... if only I had longer legs :(

yeh but i've got two bikes now to keep the k's down. With 130 on the ol gurl it wont hurt to slow down a bit. Its all about quality rather than quantity these days ;)

Did I mention I have it back now after an extended stay at Tim's, apart from being an idiot and breaking the front rhand indicator clean off when I rode to work on Tuesday - I have been having a ball. Except when it decides to hop onto the back wheel going down hill with a corner comming up  I forgot it would do that sorta shit :kuda: Gotta love tha 9 :kuda: :kuda:

Must be something with the 9's - my front indicator is broken too!!!! - although mine was done when I was about to pass a mate up in the hills of the gold coast and he hit a stick (more like half a tree) - which then flicked up and hit my bike - taking out my indicator and then my leg!!!! - thinking about replacing them with some of those flush mounted LED jobbies - anyone ever seen a 9 with these installed ? - im reluctant as not sure how it will look!

i had EXACTLY the same problem on my 9, would idle fine but when i started riding went to 3 cylinders.

Turned out it was a lose vacuum hose. Check all the hoses on the fuel tank are connected!

I know this is an old post but handy for people searching...

had the same problem sort of problem with mine ended up being the mixtures :D

so far 3 solutions.
  • fuel pump,
    vacuum hose.
    mixture screws.
although the mechanic took the carbs out fiddled with them so could have fixed something else in the process.
another time i've had problems with the pipes that connect the carbs to the head as well... they where cracked.
