i saw 1 a few months back at the Honda shop. To be honest i like them for doing something different with a bike, looks like something from the distant future! Cant see it taking off but still like the creativity!
ZX-2R '88 -> ZX636 '06 -> ZX-9R '99 -> ZX-10R '04 -> Z1000 '03 -> ZX-10R '04 -> ZX-10R '08

It's essentially a scooter for those who are short of leg and don't like scooters. I think they are ugly as fark, but they have a place in the grand scheme of things.
Before you condemn the bike just because it's a Honda and because it's unusual there a couple of questions you need to ask yourself.
* If you were old and/or had a bad back and/or legs and/or neck, would you ride one (or something similar) or not ride at all or just walk?
* If you were extremely short of leg and/or female and/or new to motorcycling would you ride one of these or a scooter...or not ride at all or walk?
If you answered you'd rather walk then maybe you should have a long hard look at yourself in the mirror.
These are quite popular with the Ulysses guys and girls, some of which an getting on in years. One thing in common is though that they will damn near ride anything so they can keep on two wheels. Some of them have artifical hips, arthritis and all they can handle is something like the DN-01, which at least superficially looks like a normal bike.
Just because you don't like the look of them doesn't make it bad. I'd rather ride a DN-01 than a Vespa or a Harley. I hope it's a good few years before I have to make that choice.
And on an allied note Honda should STFU with the marketing spiel, those guys have NFI and they should lay off the drugs. The write-up for the Hornet makes it sound like it's the devil on two wheels, but it's actually like a cross between a swiss watch and a Janome sewing machine.

Looks like someone left a Busa out in the sun too long and it started to melt

2004 ZRX1200R
And on the seventh day Richo ended his work which he had made. Decided resting was for soft cox, straddled the REX and headed up the old road.
And it was good

Sorry Ratmick but even if I fit into any of the catagories above I would buy a Suzuki Burgman 600 before the Honda thing. It must be the only scooter in the world with no storage. Even the Vespa has a bag hook in it. The fuel range is very poor and I don't think the riding position is that great either.
Remember, half the people you know are below average.

Re: New Entry for the WTF were they thinking awards
Im with ratmick on this.... I have seen it in the flesh and would prefer it over a burgman... (lets hope it never comes to that though)
The world is round. It has no point.
