2001 zx9r alternator/regulator probs

hi all,
has any body had any trouble with alternator and regulator my yellow wires were welded togeather in the water proof plugs??have pulled out alternator to get it checked out tommorow along with regulator is this a common problem??my bike has just clicked over 30 odd started off with head light not working then continued to drain batterie dead on the side of road.what a biatch of a thing hu

have done was stata shit itself not a very common thing by the sounds of it melted wires for reg/rec togeather bugger
