Police are appealing for witnesses following a crash at Pymble yesterday that claimed the life of one motorcyclist and left another seriously injured.

Police and emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway near Telegraph Road shortly after 5.30pm following a collision between the motorbike and a utility, both of which were travelling north.

The two men on the motorbike were thrown from the machine onto a power pole. The
22-year-old rider died at the scene while a second man sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Royal North Shore Hospital.

All northbound lanes were blocked for about four and a half hours while investigations took place. Southbound traffic was diverted into Telegraph Road while northbound traffic was funnelled north into one southbound lane.

Traffic on the highway was disrupted for several hours while Crash Investigation Unit Police examined the scene.

The driver of utility has been spoken to by police. No charges have been laid.
I hope the pillion makes a full recovery and RIP to the rider

Very sad news :(

I commute to the city daily like many here and have definitely noticed a significant increase in cage driver aggression and downright stupid manoeuvres over the past two weeks.

In the past week alone for example, I have had to do two emergency stops and one split-second swerve. Not that I wanted to test my response skills out, but it's always good to know you are being vigilant.

"Silly" season, alright...! :?
