Hi all i was starting my bike yesterday and it wouldn't start ( damn zx2R...) so i choked it and BANG!!#!@# smoke shoots outta the exhaust, so does anyone know why this happens? it doesn't sound like a good thing Also my bike makes weird bloom bloom sounds after i ease of the accelerator why why why?? Sorry for all these questions these older bikes are pretty unreliable *sigh* still a long way to go until i can upgrade.

sounds normal for a carbied bike, most likely it had been flooded and once it started all the excess fuel went bang! my zx9 used to do that too! i loved it when it did that!
When you say easing off the accelerator as in shutting the throttles and sounds like a popping sound in the exhaust ? Not sure if the 2 has the Kleen system, but most likely running a bit to rich, which would make sense if its flooding a bit on start and overfueling hence the pop, plus also with a hot exhaust pipe any unburnt gasses will pop and fart in the hot exhaust.
