Re: personal number plates
Well i think if you are a die hard enthusiast of cars or bikes, then i think Custom plates are a nice way to finish off your pride and joy! Plus i reckon custom plates look nice on a good vehicle and it gives it identity.
Most of the time when you see a sweet car or bike you remember it as "watever" plate is.
Except there is a bright red Ferrari F430 with the plate "F1" the bloke that drives it is havign a major mid-life crysis, but its always fun when you see him on a sunday and he has a race with you!
I think people who seriously get upset with custom plates need to stop being old ladies from ACA or TT complaining absolutely everything!

How did you manage to get stiffed on the Ninja plate? My car one is a custom, but when they changed over to TasPlates they sold it to me for $250.

Re: personal number plates
Ooh, I forgot my name/make/model of my bike - that's Ok it's on the plate
If you have imagination and a decent vehicle it looks Ok, otherwise it's a bit lame (in my opinion). It's got make and model already written on the bike, doesn't need it on the plate - and I don't see the need to tell every stranger my name. Oh look, I've just been cut off by ... yeah tops
I would EXPECT Madwak to have 'KSRC' as his plate thought.

Re: personal number plates
On the old Falcon i had 84RGE (barge) and i still have them hangin in the shed, and on the Z750 i have 67 FKD (get fucked)
We gotta be creative in QLD, number / leter paltes cost 415 but Prestige (Any work yoou want) cost 2200!
Most ppl can read 67 FKD, and im not phased if people cant read it, its nto exactly somehting you wanna advertise lol.

Re: personal number plates
Personalised plates also make it a lot easier for someone to remember your car/bike and tell the plod if you do something your not supposed to or make a fuss, (Officer it was a black bike of somekind vs officer it was a black bike but had a really cool number plate that read ninja)

Re: personal number plates
true, if the cops do see you doing something they would pull you up for but cant get at you, and see a number plate they could remeber next time they see you they might be slightly more inclined to pull you up. Then again they look coolfrl0173 wrote:Personalised plates also make it a lot easier for someone to remember your car/bike and tell the plod if you do something your not supposed to or make a fuss, (Officer it was a black bike of somekind vs officer it was a black bike but had a really cool number plate that read ninja)

Re: personal number plates
I used to have the plate PRVRT on my CBR..... When my bike got stolen I came to the conclusion that someone memorised my personal plate (which is easy enough) and located my bike that way.
The world is round. It has no point.

Re: personal number plates
Got em own em... not getting rid of them..
(seeing as they cost me a packet and then some).
I recently bought "Zook" (the bike) and he came with his own presonal plates (cause I bought them for him, and the previous owner.. my lesbian lover.. lol), but when I went to transfer the plates into my name it cost me $160+ for the previlage + the annual fee of $190.00...
NICE... NOT
But he just wouldnt be the same without the plates... so I sucked it up and paied the extra $160+
