stay upright courses

hey there guys

just wondering has anyone done those stay upright courses ( the ones run after you have your licence) just wanna get a bit more confidence in high speed cornering more what line to take i tend to hook in 2 early and have to start standing her up half corner , so if anyone whishes to comment would be appreciated

I did the Stay Upgright Cornering/Braking course and it was great BUT I would reccommend Superbike School Level 1 over Stay Upright if it's just cornering that you want to focus on.

Where are you located? I've done the intermediate one for HART in Sydney - handling dynamics or some such it was called. Really good purpose built course at St Ives. It takes you through setting up for corners and the technique for executing them. Emergency braking from 80 km/h, and a couple of other things too. Highly highly recommended, especially if you're riding a barge like the 12. Hooking in early is a problem that many riders have including myself (still). They are road based courses, designed to get you through the twisties safer, but are excellent to teach you the basics before you start going for more advanced things like late apexes and so forth. If this more advanced, track oriented stuff, is what you want to be getting into as well, I hear California Superbikes School courses are the ultimate. But the greatest thing about doing a course is that they give you a safe environment in which to gain confidence through practice.

yeah might be worth while only realy cornerin like i can hit big open say 55 k crns at 100-110so i think thats not doin to bad its more just tight stuff i supose plus i wanna start hittin the track

Yeah, definately Superbike School then in my opinion. I called them the other day to get dates for next year (for Sydney) as they are not yet on the website and they said they should be up on the website by the end of this week.

yeah oran park seems like it would be a more user friendly track for a 12r aswell

What makes you say that? I quite like OP but I wouldn't say OP suited a 12 more ... if anything the longer. faster straight at EC would better suit your 12. Cath wrote a good review of the level 1 superbike school that's worth reading if you're considering one of these courses, and ty did a review/comparo of Stay Upright and CSBS at one stage too from memory.

i did the motor cycle technics coarse with stay up right at op on the zx12r ,,,,,,after 4 years with no bike was good to get back to the basics,,,,counter steering, posture, high speed cornering and braking ,,,,,,opened my eyes on what i was doing wrong,,,book it in ,,,you'll enjoy it,,,,,,,,cheers paul

just the bigger sweeping corners if you know what i mean alot less turn in them alot quicker to come out of so will be easy to keep the pwr there
