Aftermarket exhaust for a GPX?
Aftermarket exhaust for a GPX?
Hi all,
Was wondering if anyone has any advice on sourcing an aftermarket exhaust system or slipons for an '89 GPX 600R?
I'm currently in Melbourne but could probably arrange freight from other states if necessary.
Ta!

Try this mob:
http://www.formula1mc.com.au/index.htm
They used to have a 'specials' page on their site which listed a full 4-1 system for a GPX600 which was reduced over 60% and was selling for around $650 from memory. I just had a quick look then and the specials page is gone but perhaps if you contacted them they might know its whereabouts.

re: Aftermarket exhaust for a GPX?
mate welcome..
James is spot on with his post re Formula1 (they in Qld I fink)
from memory, Rorrock (Rob) wanted one for his GPx600 and the only
one has was able to source came from them....
It was a full 4-1 system and sounded sweet
btw
I reckon 2 slipons for the std pipes would be a waste of $$
go the 4-1
oh and I have a F1 4-1 system on my GPx750
nice fit, nice note and liberated a few horses
cheap too...
cheers

Yep - I had a 4-1 pipe with a Formula1 silencer on my GPX600 which is why Im familiar with what Formula1 had on their site. It sounded great!
re: Aftermarket exhaust for a GPX?
Thanks guys, Formula1 build a nice looking pipe - I've shot them an email and will let you know how it turns out!

Not the greatest, but prob going to be the easiest and cheapest... Megacycle in Dande I think.. They can prob make you either a slip on can, or do you a complete system..

Megacycle make an average can for a fair price, from my experience with these cans over many years is its all top end power and subtracts from bottom end.
Mind you i've always taken them of my bikes and replaced them with better cans, i have megacycle headers and cans in the garage there noisy and crap

re: Aftermarket exhaust for a GPX?
hmmmm
at the moment, I am running my ol' Megacycle can on the F1
system..
noisy, yes!
but seems to have liberated a few horses
I did the swap b4 the PI track day
and I think the bike was a bit quicker
(a very subjective seat of the pants comment
)
I had a full 4-1 megacycle system on the ol' GPz750
and after a few years, it rusted to hell...
so I have the good and bad from megacycle
but still maybe, give 'em a call...
