I would have gotten acompresor and gun if i coulda afforded it, but the $ required was just not feasable.

How long ago was this? I've been eyeing compressors and associated equipment off lately and the prices have been coming down...

Hell even the missus commented on how cheap they are...

yeah i know they are cheap. but i couldn't afford the $150 to get one, shoestring budget time in my household :-\

Understood mate... Wasn't having a go... I remember when they were many hundreds of dollars thats all...

i know, i never took it that way so it's all good.

Besides if i wanted to get one i'd rather spend up a few more bucks and get one that had at least a 1/2hp motor 16-20litre one rather than these 1/3 or 1/4 hp ones that would be running a stupid duty cycle to keep the air up to pressure.

Yeah I'm a bit worried about the smaller ones too to be honest... A mate got one of the SuperCheap ones and it makes a bloody racket and takes _ages_ to get up to pressure...

When it's finally ready, you undo a couple of bolts with the air ratchet and the whole process starts again...

So I don't know how well they would go with a spray gun attached anyway...

No worries I have also been eyeing off the compressors and paint guns appearing at supercheap and bunnings etc for relitively low prices, even before I had the acco, it'd just be handy for a lot of things

JFYI...For spray painting you will need at least a 10 to 12cfm compressor, anything less you will be waiting well after the paint has dried before you get enough air flow and pressure to continue, thats just my experience/opinion. Just my $0.02 worth.

This Plastex stuff, looks pretty good. Any Idea where in Melbourne I can get some? I have this slight, erm, snapped in half feel to my rear hugger...
