Entry level kawasaki!

Hey guys am looking at buying my daughter new bike as her last 2,A 50cc pocket bike and 50cc quad have both shit themselves.What can i say $300 each of Ebay!Looking on the kwaka website there smallest is the kx65 which seems a little big for an 8 year old.Both honda and yamaha have pretty good 50cc bikes for around 2 grand the crf50f and ttr50 respectivly.Is there something im missing was there an earlier model 50 they done or do now?Would rather fork out some decent money for a bike that will last rather than the ebay crap that lasts 3 months tops.Also $4990 for a kx65 is a bit much for a begginer i think is there anything preferably green out there for aroung 2g?

My ex had his kid on a KX65 at about 7 - and he didnt pay that much for it farked if I remember now how much he did pay for it but it definitely wasn't anywhere near $4K. Look around, you'll find one cheaper

honda Z50, they got 3 gears big fat tyres, no clutch. you'll have more fun on it than she will.

and you can get yer knee down on the grass

as much as i hate to say it, look at the yammy's, they have pw50's, ttr50, yz85's etc....

Perhaps try one of the older kx65's or Kx60's I think you'll find they're a tad shorter, the only thing is they pack a bit of a wallop. At 8 yo I think you'll find a PW50 a waste of money though and you'll be looking to upgrade pretty quickly.

the KX65 costs that much cos its essentially a mini motox bike, not a paddock bike like the yammy of honda or suzi's

I would have to agree with this. kids learn fast and anything less than a 65 would be to small within 6-12months

if its worth anything i had heaps of fun on a ttr 125L out on a farm over last summer...

those things sound mean at redline

i know its a spewsuki but they do an RM85

but its still 5500

Yeah my Brother did that as well. He bought two chinese imports that I had a look at and rode one of them. They were very cheaply built like you said and when I applied the brakes I needed to use two hands on the lever to stop the bloody thing.

I would buy a 2nd hand PW 50. You cant kill em and she will love it.

When I start having kids thats what I'm buying. Ive already thought it out and I dont even have any kids yet, ha, ha!!

The KX 65 is a junior race bike and if you just want to ride around a paddock will not really be suited. Look at the KDX110. It has a ristriction on the throttle which can be altered with the childs confidence, and can have the seat raised when the rider gets older. This is only from memory and may be incorrect.
They are a small sized bike but will not be out grown as fast as a PW50 etc.

A second hand kdx 50 would be a good starter bike too, they are adjustable for height.
