Just checked out the boots ...

I was expecting some K-mart mega cheap quality but they actually dont seem too bad. So, for $69 .. I bought a pair. Even if they only last 12 months its not too big a hit for the pocket. The sizes are generous though. .. I usually take a 10, but ended up with a 9 and still had a little room.

Also checked out the jackets. Zip out liner and fairly good CE protectors all round .. certainly worth $99 .. but didnt get one.

They didnt have the pants so couldnt check those out.

Tank bags rock ... thats on its way :D

And it was good

Picked myself up a set of Boots, Tank bag and bike padlock & chain.

Problem with the boots though, at the base of the zip on the left boot was poorly sewn in and the leather was cut?? after a short walk around the lounge the zip started to pull apart :( , would really like to get another pair but I dont think there will be much chance of that as there was only 4 pairs of boots there at 9.30am.

Tank Bag is brilliant :D :D :D

I reckon they only put out a few at a time. Big sales pitch so you think you are lucky last ;)

Take em back tomoz with the receipt and trade em in.

Alternatively ... find ya nearest shoe repair place and get em to sew the farrrker back in. Dont think that should cost too much.

Well i gotta say...some good gear from there...im impressed... got myself gloves, boots, tankbag, bike cover and the gear is excellent...the gloves very comfy, the boots i had to get a size 11.5 (im a 10.5) because they fit better, and the tank bag im using it on my rack and is by far the best buy ive done so far :D 8)

I've heard of at least one other person have the zipper fail on them, i think it was the actual zippy mechanism that failed for him though.

I ended up running by the Aldi in Chatswood and getting a jacket, the summer gloves (they look 10x better than last years summer gloves) chain & two pairs of socks. I'll try the Aldi near where i live, perhaps they'll have pants there, they did the last time they had a bikegear sale & i checked 2 days after the sale ended.

I went into the Aldi at Warringah yesterday evening, all the boots, socks, pants and gloves were gone, they had about 6 kidney belts and about 3 jackets, 1 bike cover and maybe 10 tank bags :?

Bought the boots, great fit, very comfortable. Two concerns - the zip quality isn't great and they seem very thick around the toes - don't know how easy it will be getting under the gear shift........

The zip are quite poor hey .. On close inspection, I have noticed that on the right boot, the zip has parted at the very bottom and could come unzipped by itself if ya know what I mean. But I think a coupla stitches myself through the zip could fix that no probs.

Appart from that, as Penno said, very comfy and tried em on the bike, a little bulky in the toe under the gear shift, but nothing serious . .

p.s. anyone in sydney want more gear from aldi, I just got back from the Hurstville store with the last pair of medium pants.

They have shitloads of tank bags left (i estimate about 20 at least), and around the same number for the pairs of boots & bike covers as well. Half a dozen to a dozen chains left too, i think all the gloves are gone as well.

p.s. Peka, got hold of those oversized foam covered pipe cleaner gizmo's too. Ended up buying about 5-6 packs of them, theres still heaps left.
