That is unless you’re happy using black old sump oil lol
in that case I have a shit load of sump oil from the tractors out at work I could sell u at a cheap price…….

Good to hear that they changed it again... whats the bet it looks heaps better now? as for doing your own, its the best way to gogulf690 wrote: but may just do my own in future.gulf
When you do an oil change, there is still a *shitload* of residual oil left in the motor, coating the sump walls, in the oil galleries, basically everywhere inside the motor where oil normally goes. This residual oil is blacker than Uncle Chop Chop's heart !!gulf690 wrote:..... and they absolutely guaranteed that it was changed and that the 'residual' old oil made it go that colour. .............When they drained it, the old oil was still black (with 90 klm on it). Don't know what to make of it, but may just do my own in future.......
Gos, I had the motor running for 10 Minutes after the oil / filter change then let it settle for 1/2 an hour then topped up to the level shown. as far as I am aware the previous oil had seen 1 PI track day & 3 EC track days & came out relatively clean which backs up the guestimated usageGosling1 wrote: (Rob - was that photo taken after an oil change but before the engine was started again ??
I have done this plenty of times before with second hand bikes...... a sacrificial Flush can clean out the old oil (not the sludge) & 90K is probably a good run before dumping it & adding the new oil.......I use cheep oil for the flush to save $$$ & normally would ride about 20K before dumping ..... at least you know your engine oil is as clean as possible without a teardown.gulf690 wrote:..... and they absolutely guaranteed that it was changed and that the 'residual' old oil made it go that colour. .............When they drained it, the old oil was still black (with 90 klm on it)
