anyone have one of these, 83/4/5 model.
I am trying to fit the side stand and wondering if there is a special nut to fit up the spring extension plate.
See pic, the thread where it is located is 6mm but the hole in the extension is bigger, looks like I need a sleeve or something, or am I doing it wrong?

You am doing it wrong...netbikes wrote:.... or am I doing it wrong?.....
those old babies don't use the spring extension plate-thingys. The spring is attached directly to a big old lug, which can be found on the same plate, welded to the frame, that the sidestand pivots off.
That spring you have in the photo is too short - it should have 1 long side and 1 short side.
I'll try and get a picture up to show you...

Re: GPZ750 question
Well actually not, see pic from the parts list. I found the screw needed, I was looking for a hex head but the one from mine was round and a philips and of course was with all the philips screws from when i sorted them after plating. It's all fittet up now ...... and works:-)Gosling1 wrote:You am doing it wrong...netbikes wrote:.... or am I doing it wrong?.....
