I watched that and laughed - typical Qld traffice-flatfoot with an axe to grind against bikers. What a complete cocksmoker.

Fortunately for most of us, 90% of traffic coppers are reasonable, and also have a job to do. But that arsehat on ACA, what a cowboy !! Even down to the 'Holden Dealer Racing Team' lanyard he was wearing........I am pretty surprised that this footage made it onto the tele in the first place.

I bet the idiot gets moved to a desk-job. He is probably despised by his peers......

Batman was always supposed to be somewhat unhinged. Not sure what happened in the mid 60's to the late 70's. Too many hippies smoking too many drugs I guess? All that gay Batman and Robin stuff was a travesty! The "Dark Knight" came back to us in the mid 80's.

As a kid I loved comics. The bottom of my wardrobe was stacked high with them. From the bottom of the wardrobe all the way up to the shirts hanging on the hangers. They were all, without exception, Batman and 2000AD comics.

Dont get me wrong I am not having a personal attack at anyone and I have a very good friend who is a copper along with a family member who is a 'D' so I have heard and argued both sides of the story. Originally I wasnt going to pass any comments but I just wanted to add a bit of food for thought.
aardvark wrote:For people to sit back and think that all coppers are going to be fantastic people who never do anything wrong is just plain naive. There are plenty of coppers who I think should have probably been given the arse a long time ago. But when they are having trouble attracting people to the job to start with, how can they really afford to get rid of the ones they already have?
People that live in a glass house shouldnt throw stones. If I have staff that cant do there job or causing brand damage then I get rid of them not just keep them to fill the roster. then again those arseholes that you may be talking about actual measure there day through how many tickets they have given out and this in turn earns the government money. This means as far as the government is concerned they are the best damn revenue raisers they have ever seen and there is no way they would lose these people willingly. To me these people are just like Girl guides selling cookies.

Actually, now that I think about it, nearly every plumber I've ever met has been an absolute c%nt!! Most roofers and gutter installers I know are cockheads. Should I get around and assume that all plumbers and roofers are the same?
the difference here is that if a Plumber is a prick to us then we can tell him to get fucked without seeing the inside of a prison cell/courtroom and costing us money.

There is a reason Hwy patrol has a bad name and I know it frustrates the good girls and boys in blue that arent like that because no one deserves to get treated badly, however you cant cant act like GOD and play the bully whist still expecting to have respect from the community. Respect is earned

The said video is now on the ACA site.

Just checked it out. Assuming the other cars are travelling at around 80, the bike is speeding. I can generally pick the speed of a vehicle, within 3 or 4 km/h, just by looking at it. Monitor traffic enough and you'll get real good and doing this too. The 105km/h he's been pinched at is highly likely.

They get a Wheels reporter to comment? Wheels?? WHEELS!!! Now there's a highly factual piece of literature if ever I've seen one. I'd put them right up there with Post Magazine... Or even People!

Differentiating the speed of the bike, verses the other cars is a no brainer. The laser in that video has a beam divergence of 3 milliradians. The beam is only 90cm wide at 300 metres. This width decreases the closer the target is to the laser. If the reticle is on the bike, it's not going to be hitting the other vehicle... and if it was hitting both of them, the laser would produce an error.

I don't think there's any doubt that the bike was speeding.

Having said all that....... driving the way that copper was, to nab a 105 in an 80 is just ludicrous!! A copper on a bike would have had a much easier time of stopping the bike, but in traffic like that, it'd still be a tough call to make the decision to go after it. Based on that footage alone, I concur.... cowboy.

i know that some coppers a ok but there are some real d12kheads out there. one time i was told a story by someone i knew at work. she said her husband and herself were enjoying a motorbike ride, with her riding pillion when they were pulled over by a copper even though they were doing nothing wrong. when he approached them he flat out said "i'm gunna give you a ticket, what do you want it for?" her response was "how bout not wearing a seatbelt" (obviously in a very sarcastic manner).

The ticket was written out for a sealtbelt offence.

This may have been a couple of decades ago now and this was in a small country town so they felt that they shouldn't push the matter any further otherwise they feared they may be given a little more attention when spotted out riding.
I plan on living forever..............so far so good!!
