ZX12R Rear Shock

Post by 98ninja »

due to the fast paced nature of my work ive noticed there are a few quite cheap standard rear shocks for zx12s on ebay USA.
Is it worth it and who would i go to for getting a standard rear shock revalved and re whatevered for a 90kg rider?
any idea on costs?
the standard rear shock as is seems to be for a rider a fair bit lighter than me.

the standard rear is set up for a 65kg Jap weakling
but readily adjustable ..via valving and spring changes to suit you.

I am 85kg and set up my ZX12R rear suspension (and front also) to suit me
and my riding style.

I would go either the OE (re-valved or new)or a decent aftermarket shock
...neither which are cheap. A cheap shock on a Zx12r is a no-no imho

Just because you can ride, doesnt mean you should. My reason on this earth is an example to others what NOT to do.

for most riders, the stock shock can be set up *just fine* - Zenodamper are a sponsor here, they are in Sydney, but worth the trip down to get your shock set-up for you.

Local to Newcastle ? Graeme Boyd - is he still around ? Would be worth checking with him. Graham Morris (ex-racer) used to run a shop up that way, he might also have some leads for a local wizz....
