Casey a sore LOSER?????

Post by GForce »

It was an absolutely exciting race today as Rossi and Stoner battling it out for the lead. A very good and clean race IMHO.
This is what Stoner had to say in the post race interview: http://youtube.com/watch?v=VJVhgODah3Q

What a sore loser..... He always has a winge when he loses and should have admitted that Rossi was the better rider that day.
*runs and hides* I know im gonna get alot of stick for this but truth hurts.

When you cut the corner to the point that you leave the track completely in order to gain a racing advantage, i would not call that very sportsman like and most forms of motorsport would see a black flag for such a passing manouvre.

Though it did provide some of the best racing that we have seen in motogp in quiet some time, and a pass like that would've taken huge amounts of talent, confidence and truck loads of balls.

I don't agree that Casey whinges when he loses. Most of the time he's beating himself up, not other riders.

Rossi was out of control a few times, but managed to pull it back together. He's a brilliant rider, but he was more dangerous in that race than I've seen in a long time. It certainly wasn't as clean as Jerry Burgess says. I also don't agree with Casey that it was "too hard" - it's the pinnacle of racing, expect it. I think the one that got Casey annoyed was the Corkscrew adventure - Rossi pushed him off line and effectively gained an advantage by his own mistake.

Bottom line - they're both geniuses at what they do. Casey's a bit more civilised, but give him another season or two and it'll be knocked out of him.

You want whinging? Try Rossi crying about tyres last year.

Casey came out and said that the mistake was "his" mistake. Didn't blame it on Rossi, didn't blame the bike, didn't blame it on the ladybugs.

Some of Rossi's passing was typical of the old school racing and was fantastic to see. Running off the track to gain an advantage was a disgrace, as was some of his blatant brake checking.

The tall-poppy syndrome in this country is disgraceful! I'm not saying you should support Stoner just because he's an Aussie. If you don't like him, so be it. But people whinge and moan about him for no reason. He's the best we've got.

I'm a big fan of Rossi and Casey (obviously) and some of the racing was good to see, but Rossi's win it or bin it mentality was a little bit over the top at Laguna.

They can all whinge and moan as long as they give us racing like that....seriously that was the best gp race I have seen for years, the best argument to "moto gp becoming like Formula 1.
......Still thinking......and starting to hurt.....

I dont think Casey was a sore loser, just a bit upset that the "respect" Rossi has shown him up to now has eroded to a full on conflict (suprise suprise).
Hopefully it stays on track, I think there is nothing better than the handshake on the slow down lap.

I don't think he was/is a sore loser either.
I think though that this is the first time he's really had a one-on-one with Rossi this year, so he may have become a little complacent.
He dealt with similar battles last year quite calmly - they were more regular then though, and his bike was better than Rossi's so he didn't have to fight as hard (as was pointed out to me at the PITS yesterday ;) )

He's definitely no Gibbersook.

Never argue with an idiot. He'll drag you down to his level, then beat you with experience.

it wasnt like rossi cut across the grass and took 100m off the course to get in front,
if anyone can pilot a 220hp+ motorbike with slicks onto gravel and back going DOWN the cork screw they deserve the pass.

and rossi was no where near as blatant as he was when he punted the Jib in the last corner in spain a few years back.
a friend of mine called that move the Gib - jab.

Bingo. And with any other rider everyone would've called foul. Instead Rossi's praised for staying on board.

Anyway, other than that it was great racing.

Interesting if rossi took both of them out because rough/dirty move, then he would have more of a right to whinge. 8)
