Hi Ad,
I had the same needs as you for my Z1000 as I often do spirited riding.
I would highly reccommend the Renthal Ultra Lows.
They are road bars, not dirt bike bars, so there is good sweep back to keep your wrists comfortable when leaning off the bike.
They are lower and very slightly wider than the stock ones.
The Ultra Lows are all the rage with the Zed owners in the UK & USA for these reasons. :D

Daz.

p.s. If you are in Melbourne you are welcome to ride my Zeddie to check their suitability.
Muzzy Ti 4 into 1, Power Commander III USB, K&N, Airbox mod, KLEEN delete, Throttle quickener, Vortex -1 front sprocket, Renthal Ultra Low 'bars, Seat cowl, Ohlins 0.95kg fork springs, ZX6R shock. 130hp/ 70ft/lbs!

Happy to help out a fellow Zedder! :D
Budget for some bar-ends, as the OEM ones don't fit!
The Renthal bars are a b@stard for finding bar-ends that fit. :x
I had to buy genuine Renthal ones at a cost of $40.

Host some pics once they're intalled! 8)
