Motorbike GPS systems
Does anyone have or have they used a bike GPS system?
if so which is better, TomTom or Garmin?
Or maybe another brand I am not aware of?
Thoughts? ideas?

Re: Motorbike GPS systems
I have a TomTom Rider 1, I like it!
if you are after a TomTom rider 2 I have a friend selling one that has hardly been used, in fact she only took it out of the box had a bit of a play with it then put it back (unwanted gift) it retails for $999 she is selling it for $900 WITH a car cradle (worth $140)

Just don't forget to turn off the tracking log. That's "evidence"

swearbear9r : I sort of tried something like that after watching long way down and around. Told her I needed a BMW RG1200S so we could go touring the country side. Se said sure, sell the 9 and the thumper!!! The cruel hearted witch... how could she say something so hurtful??? sell the 9?!?! Honestly!

Can the cops really do that?? ask to see your GPS? I thought that would require a warrant. I am sure it would up here..

Re: Motorbike GPS systems
Birdman.... Why are you wanting a Garmin over the TomTom?
I have no idea about these things for bikes..I've only ever used Military GPS systems and they are bit more involved and larger than e bike GP, so I just did a google for motorbike GPS systems.. basically only got two products out of the 1000's of sites offered by google.. It was either a TomTom or a Garmin and the Garmin Zumo 550 was the best of the garmins according to al the boys in the US.

Re: Motorbike GPS systems
the garmin has all the features that i want and i think is the better unit, also know a few with them that are very happy, haven't come across to many with a tom tom rider so 1. not much feed back about it and 2. already have garmin maps so i can buy from OS and save money

Re: Motorbike GPS systems
I don;t use one and if I did I would just do a Hoffy and link a Bluetooth GPS reciever to my HTC Touch which has the software already installed on it. But, of those who I have spoken to who actually do use them, they rate the Garmin Zumo as the best ATM. I hear good comments about the Tom Toms, but people Rave about the Garmin. Pull up a group of RGS12 riders and ask the question!!
