Ok i put the lowering liks on my 636 this weekend so that my wife, now off restrictions can ride a decent bike. (she has a cbr250rr)
obvious problem - had to use the lowest link, so bike almost sits upright now on the stand (& that's before i drop the front)
now i know i have to cut down the sidestand - but as i want to be able to return it to stock at some point in the future, i think i will need a spare sidestand
so does anyone know how compatible the kawasaki family of sidestands is?
bike is a 2002 636 a1. i assume the earlier zx6 stands will probably fit too? anyone know for sure?
anyone got a spare stand they want to sell off for "research"
Toby

Hi,
Being short in the leg I had this done to my Hornet, took it to a guy locally who does metalwork for a living and he took about 20mm off and welded the original foot back on at the same angle as it was before we started. A few coats of semi-gloss black enamel and you can't tell it was done
.
I went down the route of half-arsedly finding a spare from http://www.findapart.com.au but the few responses I got were all too dear so the original was the go.

hi guys,
thanks for the replies
tracked down a 02 636 stand from a wreck. $40 sounds reasonable (more reasonable than the ebay one at least!)
next to work out angles & hights. luckily i have a tig welder at home...
