Just to touch on the incident that cased Magoo's injuries..
It was at the U.S. G.P but it wasn't the incident with Shobert that cut his GP career short. It was a year or two later when Kevin was riding for Pepsi Suzuki that he crased at Laguna Seca and sustained his injury.
Another thing to remember is that Magee won a race in the WSBK championship at Phillip Island on an OW01 some time after the incident. Awesome!
Cheers,
Pete

I thought he went into a barrier head first? anyway, he like many showed so much talent & was cut short in the prime :? I'm glad he can get a gig on TV presenting, BUT as has been touched upon, not all viewers will know that he had sustained brain injuries & therefore might make an assumption that something is up. When he first started presenting it was fine because they would start the show with a bit of KMG background..... the viewers would then know why he is like he is ;) that is not the case anymore, so I bet Cath is not the only viewer to question his stature on television.

I had to ask a friend what was wrong with Magoo, and whilst not knowing how it happened she new he wasn't drunk or "touched." I can understand why Cath would have made the assumption he was.

Kevin is one of the instructor for the Circuit Breakers Race Schools, and just a Track walk in the pissing rain with him (and you Glenn Allerton) gave me more pointers and tips than I could've hoped for. Can't wait for my next one, (hopefully dry this time) and to see him out on the track

Knowing both the poster and the subject almost equally well, I would hazzard a guess that neither would have intended or taken any offence. Magoo would prolly have laughed a tad at it! He's good spirited about what he knows are his faults. What does piss him off and i've seen it, is when people walk up to him and say "I've been a fan of yours since I was a kid...Darryl"  We were standing in a que to check in at Qantas one day talking, when some dick came up and said this. He laughed and said..." It's Kevin mate!" The guy would have liked to find a crack to crawl into by th look on his face!!

I know this is a hot subject and I've heard from many places, other than just here, what a nice guy KMg is..Also yes having suffered the injuries he has it is impressive, what he does..
..but...
... PURELY from a viewers prospective and taking into account we (motorcyclists) want more people watching the GP's... I think foxtel should be aiming for two commentators who.. not sure how to word this with out offending Magoo and KSRC members.... seem more professional I guess would be the best way of wording it.... magoo knows a hell of alot and gives alot of insight into the GP paddock goings on, mind games and events. BUT his stops and starts and lots of UM's while he recalls things doesn't come across to the non motorcycling community as professional. Having said all that I would much rather watch Magoo than any other AUSSIE former rider.

I can understand why someone would ask the question Cath did. But I would rather see magoo with someone other than DM. DM seems like he is a card board cut out.

Just my view.. and this was NOT meant to offend anyone.. least of all magoo.
