HI All,
I have FINALLY... managed to find a motor for the ol' girl..... I have a 1991 ZZR600, and it has taken me almost 2 years to find a motor!!!
Let me tell you a story,
I took my beloved kwakka to a local kwakka bike shop in my country town in NSW, the bike shop's mechanic proceeded to strip her down and had her guts all over the floor, in the end I hadn't heard from the shop for some weeks, so I called in one day with my trailer and picked up the bike in many parts.
The mechanic graciously threw all the bits in a few boxes and sat them at the door for me to ferry out to the car, yeah thanks!
Anyway so here I am unpacking all the parts from the boxes to put the ol' girl back together and what do you know!!! There are many parts missing!!!
Thats snakey @#$%er had lost/kept neglected to give me the parts, parts missing include the ENTIRE airbox, many screws and bolts, the castle nut that
holds the back wheel on.....radiator hose' So that made life difficult!
Not to be outdone I went and spoke to the bike shop ( which had now moved) and gotten rid of the slack arse mechanic! So I tell the fella of my delemma and he is most sympathetic, telling me there are about 40 other people in the same boat!! having taken bikes home in boxes with many bits missing!
So I go about ordering the parts and hope that the bike shop might do a little to help me out with the new bits.....I understand that it was about 18 months gone by and that I should have checked the boxes and all that....but I thought I'd give the shop the chance to redeem themselves, and retain a bit of good will. But NO....... they ust hand me the prices and sent me on my way. So I go off to another shop and order the parts through them, who in turn order them from shop 1 !!! . Every day I find another part missing...and have to order more bits.
Does it ever end! I know she's an ol' girl, and probly not worth much, but its all I have at the moment, will be looking to get her going and then trade in a few months time, after I get my bike legs back!
Thats my story..... sorry if I bored you all, but had to have a winge to get it off my chest! ahhh that feels better. Now lets talk bikes!

Ahhhh that sux.
What you want, and what you get hey? Sorry to hear of your saga.
Don't know if this will be of any help, but in case you have to look for more parts, Ducati Paul gave me this link in another thread. http://www.findapart.com.au/find_parts_ ... p?cat_id=4
I hope you have more luck from here on in!

It's a pity you didn't say that you needed a zzr600 motor. I have a complete one sitting a crate and is for sale.

I have spare wheels, spare frame, spare forks, spare swingarm and rear shock, spare fairings ..... surely a spare motor wouldn't hurt?Gosling1 wrote:ducati_paul wrote:....Where and how much?.....
