ZX14 Frame

Post by Che »

Sometime ago I posted information in here that there was a problem in the US with a couple of 06 ZX14 frames cracking. The post was deleted very quickly by the powers to be. There has been a recall in the USand UK now on 06 and early 07 zx14's to check frame collar welds. No recall here yet... The reason Ibring this up again is because my frame has developed cracks. I wonder if this will be deleted once again??????

Admin & moderators can delete or edit any post, but the post would usually have to be pretty bad & go against forum guidelines to be deleted.

I think you'll find that you are greatly mistaken. No need to apologise to any of the mods tho, we expect to have people talk rubbish about us.

I have been known to lock or move threads in the past - have removed the odd pic considered unsavory - but never an entire thread. We did lose a considerable number of threads in the two great crashes.

Something as serious as frame cracking would not be deleted, more likely highlighted

Ok then I'll assume it was a computer glitch and leave it go at that......I am not looking foward to this warranty claim thingy....I have heard a lot of bad stories in the past. It will just go to show how good Kawasaki are in Australia what course of action they take and if I shell out to buy a 2009 Kawasaki.....

I've said it before but as far as Kawasaki Aus. Warranty claims go, they rely heavily on the dealer you make the claim through.

If you get a good dealer who is willing to say they think it's a valid claim and is going to follow it through then you should be fine. If you get a crappy dealer who couldn't give a stuff and isn't willing to push the point then regardless of what you say they'll take their word for it and you'll have heaps of trouble.

Get whatever info you can on the overseas recall before you make the claim too as you can't guarantee that your dealer will know anything about it

Here's a related thread about the ZX14 frame issues. Might be of interest and contains pictures.

Bang on.. Don't really believe this is brand specific either.. Same applies with vehicle dealerships..

Best advice I could give anyone chasing a warranty claim is - "Make them think that they thought of it" type policy.. Pride will then take over and you stand a pretty good chance of getting a result.
