The random thanks thread (or ksrc is cool)

Post by Cath »

I'm a bit over all the negativity and bitching that's been hanging around this place lately. A lot of what's been said has a lot of validity and needed to be said, so I'm not trying to bag anyone out for anything they've posted at all, I'm just saying that I personally am kinda over it. So instead of negativity, how about a thread about some good shit?

I've met some really top people here who I admire greatly. I've met people who have made me re-evaluate my life and re-think some of my prejudices. I've met people who I think will be life-long friends. I've met some people who are very special. I've had great support from people here. I've had bucketloads of laughs with ksrc people. I've had some great fun rides with great fun people. This place is great.

Thanks MadKaw and Jus - you guys have created a real community here. You both go above and beyond to help anyone out with anything bike-related. Dave, you're a top bloke to have a beer with. Jus - you're an amazing woman, and your potato bake is so good - if you ever leave MadKaw, think about giving me a go! ;)

I'm not going to list everyone who I think makes this place great because I'd be here forever, so I'm just going to pick someone randomly from the crowd:

Ummm.... eeny, meeny, miney, mo... Frank.
Frank - thanks for helping to organise so many things. Thanks for always thinking about other people. You deal with being bagged out on with more graciousness and good humour than anyone else I've ever met. I hope you do know it's all in good fun and not one bit of it is mean-spirited. Thanks for being the big friendly helpful dude that is always willing to help or just chat over a beer. You're a top bloke.

OK - who's next? Pick someone at random who you'd like to thank for helping to make this community the top place it is.

(unlike other recent threads - this one is actually posted by me!)

Awesome thread Cath - Thank you!

But what have you started, this could end up like that grammy speach...

I'd like to thank me mum for...

Honestly, there are too many to name. There's a whole lotta good people in here. The two who probably gain a mention from me are Ronster and Strika. Ronster took me under his wing when I first joined, accused me of riding like a copper and proceeded to chase me through god knows where at an excessive rate of knotts. Strika has always given me the time of day, leant me his tyre warmers and most of all mentored me in riding the pace - say what you will about the guy, but he gave me a whole heap of confidence riding roads I previously hadn't be happy on.

Like I say there are a great many more I could name, some who don't seem to post here much, the rest just don't seem to ride much. But thanks to them as well.

And finally I'd like to thank Mr Yamaha, for making me realise just how damn good my Kawasaki really is!
