AMCN - 1000cc test

Post by MadKaw »

Just got the latest AMCN.. It doesn't look good for the zx10r..

It was rated 2nd on the road and 6th on the track (e.c.), only beating the KTM..

The Honda won both....

Interesting read with lots of stats and info on the all the bikes with plenty of guest testers cutting laps.

Jason Kain did the quickest lap on the 10, 1:38.9.. Kawi should give him a ride on the superbike me thinks.. ;)
He use to punt a zx9r and zx6r in the Aus championships a few years back and did quite well...

The Honda did a 1:37.2... not really much in it...

since i've got plenty of time on my hands  i've read quiet a few shootouts recently and they all seem to be relatively consistent.

Honda 1st coz it does everything extremely well and the 10 second or third.

Either way, they're all good bikes, but god damm some of them are ugly this year 8)

brought the mag this morning then went out and rode both the cbr and the 10 back to back. Love the 10 a shit load better and that's with all biased put aside. I was really excited to get on the cbr but the execitment quick dissipated after I rode it. Love the 10 and has a fark load more noticeable power everywhere than the gumby even with pipes and TRE.

Thats great mate,

feel free to elaborate on your findings, and i'm not just talking about the power differences.

This is a little bit off topic,

For those of you that have this amcn issue...

I'm trying to find out what is the name/model of the arai helmet the rider is wearing in the main 1098s page on the track. ( the one with the red Kangaroo)

Its not M'coy is it ??

Cheers

Nope, the Stoner Rep is a Nolan. The Arai is, as you rightly guessed, a McCoy Rep ;)
