Ok.. this is where shes at -

Springs were really loose in the clutch plate - rather than replace them they are replacing the whole thing - they also tightend the small chain sproket - i dont think thats all thats wrong and the crew at the dealers are divided in thinking the same, but they will assess the rest when they put her back together. - No date given for return - so chances are i wont hav her back for the Queens b'day weekend

I hav my old 6f back in the stable in the mean time..but once you'v been on the Z  you never quite feel right :?

Sounds like they pull it outta the box, slap some oil and petrol in it annd bingo, bike sold basically... would have thought they'd give it a fairly thorough going over prior to releasing it to be ridden on the road...

I only had the bike for just on 3 weeks (i think  )... cant really blame the dealer, they have kept me informed and are working to solve the problem- all though i did question the noise when i picked her up ...just progressively got worse..

"Out of the box" - Yeah apparently they dont have to do anything really with these bikes..

I haven't been able to find anything else ie: production recalls .. faults etc...
Open ears for anyone who as info !!

If ya can't really blame the dealer then who is to blame? You?? Hell hath no fury like a pissed off possum :P IMO the dealer is negligent if all he does is stick oil and petrol in it straight outta the box and it's ready to ride... mate bught the champagne 6 limited edition a while back and he saw his in the box, it is assembled and basically ready to ride straight outta the box one the fluids are added evidently but I still thought they'd give it a good once over..

dude,

lots of Zed expertise on http://www.riderforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=33

all ZED owners, very good wealth of Knowledge, ;)

we've all discovered that the clutch lever needs asap maintanace as its sticky and could lead to seizing...

see this thread http://www.riderforums.com/showthread.php?t=41549

also note that alot of owners are reporting their headers screw loosening see thread http://www.riderforums.com/showthread.php?t=6111

this site maybe have a good community, but regarding techinical matters / knowledge, i find it very limited.

Warn you though hang around z1000.net and you'll get the mod bug like i did and spend all of your money! :D
