hi guys. im finding that when i open up the throttle on my bike its getting stuck. only happens when its opened up more then 1 qtr of the way.
i know we can lube the throttle cables, but how do we do this? i dont know my way around a bike and i have the service manual but it doesnt really say where everything is.
also im not sure if its the cable or just the grip (my guess is the grip as it has not been ridden in months), what is the procedure for taking off the throttle grip? ive taken off the bar ends before, and there was a giant nut under it. do i have to take this off to take the grip off?
pics would be awesome.
thanks
john

Re: sticky throttle
You will probably find it very worthwhile getting a WORKSHOP manual. At least if you don't know what you're doing, the workshop manual sort of walks you thru it. It also has a troubleshooting section.
It will also save you dollars if you plan to be doing other things to the bike yourself, not mention gaining a lot of general knowledge ? ?

Hi John you wont need to pull the whole throttle housing off just unscrew the switch mount block.from there you can also lube under the throttle, You will need a cable oiler to do the job properly so I would suggest first time get someone you know to walk you through the procedure or get your mechanic to show you what to do. What area are you located in?
