i know that sounds like a silly question.
but i know alot of teh gixxer bits are interchangable over the years.

No, they have a different spacing on the bolts. I know this from having to temporarily fit a left side standard bracket off a 95 onto my 98 when mine got stolen and I had to try to get the bike home.

Was it cause I said this..???

"Now... As I don't really need anything... who wants to look after this.? "

   You know, when I first read that part of your post, a song from Simon & Fucknuckle jumped straight into my mind......

"......Hallo darkness my old friend
I've come to talk to you again....
Because a vision softly creeping....."

etc etc barf - You know of course what the song is eh ??

well, I reckon that song says it all. Its a great idea, but like all great ideas, needs someone to push it along, do all the work, get whinged at when things go wrong, and generally end up feeling like "why the fuck do I bother".....

Ok the group buy thing is difficult to arrange / manage. Get the supplier to put up their own post and do all the leg work then.
Give a price and a cut off date for the discount purchase. They then have to receive payment by a certain date. Then they send them.
Easy really.
I got a sweater for my birthday. I realy wanted a moaner or a screamer.

I will take some rear sets for my '06 636, does anyone know if they do any for a Ducati 848 or if any manufacture have the same size bracket i will also take some forksliders for both and a SXV450 i will measure up and see what other brand will fit as i don't see there being a huge difference beside axcel width and diameter if possible...
