How readily available are ZZR parts in Brisbane?
Ok This is a pretty broad question - and it is purely to satisfy my own curiosity, and see if someone is having me on.... How readily available are ZZR250 parts in Brisbane?

They would be common as batshit anywhere I reckon, very easy bike to find bits for as GPX 250 is the smae bike more or less, just a different fairing and neither are grey imports.
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"

There used to be a M/C wreckers in Buranda/Gabba area on Logan road... Can't remember the name though.

Brisbane Bike Wreckers is on Lotus Road, the 'Gabba. Is that who you mean?
In God, we trust; all others must supply data.

What sort of parts ? New stuff from Kawasaki ? 2nd hand stuff from a wrecker ?? Other stuff from e-bay ?NortikittyKat wrote:Ok This is a pretty broad question - and it is purely to satisfy my own curiosity, and see if someone is having me on.... How readily available are ZZR250 parts in Brisbane?
I can't imagine why ZZR-250 parts would be any different to get hold of than any other Kawasaki at all really ......
Have you rung any of the dealers looking for specific parts, or the wreckers, or done any research yourself about the availablity of ZZR250 stuff ?? How did it go ??
Have I asked enough questions ?? Do you want any more ?? Do you know I can ask questions all night if I have to ?????

Re: How readily available are ZZR parts in Brisbane?

Its not for me... I never had any trouble getting parts for it or should I say my mechanic never did. And I sold the ZZR a few months back.
Was just told the other day by someone that their mechanic is finding it hard to find parts for one and I found it strange, there are poo loads of them around, and like said earlier they are not a grey import.... Unless they are trying to find brand new parts? Is this even possible? is the ZZR still being made? I know there was a 2007 model, did that new 250 ninja released replace the ZZR? But isn't it the same bike basically with a face lift? I could be wrong.... Will see if I can find out more information on parts needed...

Jebuz......
Things are on my goat tonight!
ZZR are same but different from GPX. Every Wrecker has both in stock any time, day or night. New parts are available for most Kawasaki's for the past 20 years through the dealer network.
Fark if I can still order someparts new for the 77 KH125 then a bloody zzr250 cant be that hard.
What gets me is that people will pay whatever price a wrecker a demands yet don't check availability or price for new genuine.
Example 1 - Vic Wreckers wanted $1500 cash for a secondhand 2000 zx9 frame when I can order a new one still for $1876.
Example 2 - I put in a find a part request for a clutch cover same model. Cheapest price was $130 - with crash damage - A new one from the dealer was less than $170.
Whatever part you require for a Kawasaki your first port of call should be a dealer to establish new price and availability, then the wreckers.
