Some feedback please

well it's time to buy the other half her new steed and I have been doing some research (well it's more like i tell her what she can ride and she tells me what colours she likes it in ). She only just got her L's so obviously there is a restriction in choice
Anyways I have come across these guys and was wondering if anyone has dealt with them?

What kind of condition did you find the bikes in?
How did you find there servicing?
What was the delivery condition like of the bike?
Any good or bad stories?
What should I look out for if I deal with them?

Any advice on this is appreciated.

Hey blurr i've been on many other bike forum's and alot have said that they are trouble, stay clear of them, don't trust them.So many guy's have returned and have had trouble with the bikes they bought from them. ;)you've been warned.

I personally dealt with them, i even went so far as putting a deposit down on a bike for $400, then something stupid happened at there end with problems and i pulled out and they kept my $400, i tried for ages to get it back and got nothing from them!

Its only $400, but still they are a pack of farken carnts

AVOID AT ALL COSTS, TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO AVOID AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS FRIENDS!

Bought my first bike from Budget Bikes (otherwise known as Helmet Warehouse) at Yagoona - they do (or at least did) similar stuff to Sumoto. They looked after me really well. They offered $500 in the shop for accessories and dropped the asking price 10% when I did the old "Will you take 3 grand?" Plus I wasn't happy with the rear so they put a new one in. Budget have a workshop, I rang them a couple of times for advice and they were only too happy to help.

The other place worth a try is Scotts at Arncliffe. Again, similar to Sumoto & Budget Bikes, just not as willing to deal as Budget was.

from what ve read here and elsewhere sumoto basically brings in grey imports from late 80s early 90s, puts a late compliance plate on them (as by law they are entitled to do) and then puts new plastics and stickers on em... so u think ur buying a 2003 CBR250R but its actually a 95 or whatever... id stick to private sale bike or maybe a dealer bike... obviously i would suggest a ZZR/GPX but i couldnt really go wrong with any jap built 250... style is obviously important so maybe something newish would be the go... ninja 250 or vtr250

Depends on the long term plan...

If she's only going to have this as a step up to a bigger biek, buy cheap, ride it, sell cheap...

If it's something she'll be riding a bit longer, then i'd be going a later model ZZR, ER-5 or new 250R.

Thanks Owen I understand what they are doing as I have owned a grey import before I was just after some feedback on what condition the bikes are usually in.

Going for a zx250r at the moment but she will be punting it for a bigger bike when she gets her full licence.

Good Job you decided to steer clear - I was just about to cut lose!
These guys should be put out of business. How their bikes have not killed anyone i dont know.
Price is the least of your worries dealing with these guys!!!

First bike your probably better of buying private and get something reasonably common (should you need parts)
i liked KAWASAKI BALLIUS 250...

I hope your going to teach basic servicing, how to pick up a bike and sensible riding !!!
