From memory and assuming it's the same as a car, all I did was go get a RWC from a licenced mech, then made an appointment at th Roads Dept for a look see. Which is mostly to check numbers, lights, indicators and basics. Then pay your fee and charges and they hand you some plates to bolt on. They have monstrous sized plates too. Nothing like NSW/QLD/VIC. More like the awesome ones the south Aussies get.
