Top Overhaul Kit GPZ750

Post by gulf690 »

Hi all,

I'm looking to do the rings on my 83 GPZ750.
Is there a 'top overhaul' kit that includes all the gaskets and parts needed or do i need to order them all individually ?
What are the options for a bigger bore kit ?

You can get an 810 kit from Wiseco - the aussie distributors are Serco in Brisbane. These guys can also sell you a gasket kit (full), its way cheaper than just buying the top-end gaskets from Kawasaki.

MTC engineering in the US is another option for piston kits - I think these guys do an 820 kit ?

I've got a Wiseco 810 kit in my Gpz750-A3 - works a treat. I got lucky and found it (barely run-in) hiding inside a crash-damaged engine/gearbox I bought on eBay for $100. I did have to get a new Cometic head gasket from Serco, as they require a special gasket (standard gasket overhangs the bigger bores), but the special gasket comes in the Wiseco kit.
