FI warning light stays on?

Post by slojo »

i've noticed that the FI warning light comes on and stays on while riding my 05 zx6r, i've searched through the service manual and haven't been able to find out what it means?

i've heard it comes on if there's a wiring fault? but i haven't noticed anything amiss with the running of the bike

any ideas?

Do you have a stock exhaust, or an aftermarket jobbie?

I ask because I know when my pit biatch fitted my new exhaust, it also came with a "FI light" fixer, which stopped the light from staying on

the light usually comes on when the cables are disconnected from the stock pipe, when putting on an aftermarket pipe.

I'd whip off the rear panels and have a look at the connection (RHS) If it's not that, fark knows... :?

Have a look at the servo under the seat and make sure the cables are still connected, then check on the butterfly valve on the exhaust too. If both of those are OK I'd take it to a dealer to check the fault code using their magic fault code generator thingamagiggy whatsit.

I had this issue even with the stock pipe, the servo can over rotate and trigger the FI light....nothing an adjustment won't fix
