Re: stomp grips?
i am led to believe that this is a problem for *everyone* who has ever used stomp grip. Basically, the adhesive is shit.

Re: stomp grips?
They use a 3M adhesive that is quite tacky & sticks well (with the right preperation of the tank) but heat will render it soft & pliable hence it does not work properly when things get hot or if it is left in the sun for long periods.
when the adhesive is hot & soft it is prone to delaminating basically
As for a fix all I can suggest is getting in touch with WG Enterprises ... (I think they are the importers) & let them know of your problem

Re: stomp grips?
Please dont use solvent based glues to stick it back on, it will fark your paint work...... this is probly the reason the original adhesive does not work

Re: stomp grips?
I have had my stomp grip on for about 6 months now and it is fine. It doesnt like to go round edges too much so i gave it a bit of a trim. seems ok so far

Re: stomp grips?
Can we ask what sort of prep you did on the tank before application? was it just per their instructions or any different?matt76 wrote:I have had my stomp grip on for about 6 months now and it is fine. It doesnt like to go round edges too much so i gave it a bit of a trim. seems ok so far
For my tank I washed the tank with CT18 & dried it, then used the supplied Alcohol wipes & made sure every part of the surface had been wiped down, then dried for 15 min before the application had no dramas at all with the adhesion for the first couple of months then it started to peel up at the edges

Re: stomp grips?
I've got them..
I took care and followed all the instruction when installing.
By the end of it, my thunbs were bleeding from pushing so hard on the little nipples
They've stayed on... but the edges do peel off sometimes when it gets really hot.
Its not 100% secure, but its ok.
I've also heard the other brand mentioned might be better, but they didint make clear ones, thats why i went with stomps.
