Mate if you want a brand new bike dont worry about what other people say on here, buy a new bike. You dont have to justify it
I had an 06 Z1000 and really liked it but i was dissapointed with the suspension. Saying that though every other bike in that market will be in the same boat so its horses for courses.

I'd go for a suzuki gsxr750. Google the reviews of this bike, they are raved about. You'd get one for $14K especially a k7 if they are still around.

Most forum junkies couldn't ride to save their lives so the bike is not a contributing factor if you are after a 'scratcher'.
Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together.

True to a degree... more than anything I'm inclined to say that very few people can use their bike, whatever it is, to more than 80% of is abilities. In the real world as long as you've got something with 80hp or more and a reasonable degree of skill you should be as fast as anyone else regardless of what bike. Which really brings the decision back to what you like, rather than what you need or what is 'better'.r1_forever wrote:Most forum junkies couldn't ride to save their lives so the bike is not a contributing factor if you are after a 'scratcher'.
My VTR had shithouse suspension, harsh over sharp bumps and wallowed over consecutive bumps, but it still did anything an 'average' rider could ask of it.... same as my most recent GPX600R, a few mates rode it and said "yuck" but at the end of the day it did everything my riding skills could ask of it.

1/ Get a DEMO! save yourself some cash
2/ who cares what other people think, test ride.. then buy the one that feels the best..
Buy a suzuki and then come back onto KSRC, so we've all someone to take the piss out of.

Funny you should say that, I only just thought of the new Bandit which happens to fall into the price bracket as well.
GSX1400 will also come in under the mark.

Shifty,
Thank you, take one for a test ride
Sorry mate i am just a little defensive about the bike, i came from a ZZR600 and the difference is amazing and when people call them girls bikes or hairdressers bikes i see red, (most girls i know need shockies lowered to stand them up). I have another for you though, only problem is it's a hooondddaaaahhhh, They are bringing out a 1000 that looks like the Z with some better bits.........will be next years model though. I posted about it some time ago but forgot where to get the pic.
