I found this on another site and thought it would interest some. Hope it isn't a repost.

Re: New Kwaka screamer (and No it's not strika)
screamer meaning it fires 1-2-3-4.
not 1-2....3-4 like the current 800's.
the 990's and 800's fire 2 cylinders at a time to give the tyre a chance to recover frm each thump.
screamer is 1-2-3-4 all evenly spaced, they say it makes more top end, but the lack of traction can be combatted with traction control.
your 10 fires 1234 does it not?
Ducati, only about 2 months before their 1st 990cc race, had not decided on a screamer, thumber or half/half. they ran with a half.half, 1..2....3..4
Kwak arent really ahead. they are just the 1st to do it to a 800 and test it at the track.

Doesn't the standard firing order go 1,2,4,3 - I think to help balance the crank?

Re: New Kwaka screamer (and No it's not strika)
motorcycle technology has progressed at an incredible rate since 1972.........and the Z1 kwakka.....
its firing order was 1-2-4-3, as is *every* 4-cylinder Jap bike made since, well, the first Honda 4 !!!!
Z1 - Inlet timing open 30deg BTDC, close 70 deg ABDC, duration 280 deg.....not that much difference to a late-model Z1000 really is there.....
anyone old enough to remember the *infamous* Waggot 30/70 cam in a Torana red motor ?? these were the ducks guts back in the day.... (and identical in timing figures to a stock Z1 camshaft)

Re: New Kwaka screamer (and No it's not strika)
Is it just me , but I can't see where the exhaust ports are! Are they supposed to come out in front?
I was also wondering if it's possible to have a 'big bang' screamer? That is, irregular firing order that still revs really high?

I live with fear everyday but on weekends she lets me ride.

Ant West on the screamer, don't think this has been posted yet, not that i could find anyway. it's a short clip but sounds unreal.
