P I ride days
P I ride days
Hi,just a bitch about P/I ride days, they have gone from 8 sessions to now 6 {now 4 groups instead of 3}are they that hard up or just greedy? My friends told me about the last one, {18th} the ambos didnt turn up until around 11am,thats pretty good organizing,so,
a lot less sessions,I wonder if they will contact all the riders and give them a discount on their next ride day, thats if they wanted to go.I love riding the island but,I will be looking at other tracks, any suggestions?

Ambos can be like that - we have had them turn up late for BMX races (we can't race without them), even though they have been booked for months and reminded on the week proir to the event.
I think the reduction is sessions is to compensate for the additional group, which was necessary due to the sheer number of riders. P.I can't help being popular, but they should restrict the numbers and run more ride days. It all seems to be about profit there.
What I feel is a crock is $200+ for a ride day, and they still sting you extra for a pit garage. Broadford however, $135, 3 groups, 7 sessions and no extra for the pits.
I did enjoy P.I., even in the wet and would love to do it again, but I am a big fan of Broadford. I'll travel interstate one day and check out a few others, but my next will be Broadford.

Re: P I ride days
The guys at PI said on the 18th that some sort of discount on next booking will be given - still no email from them yet on that score.
Personally I think PI is light years better track wise than Broadford. I don't think there is any comparison. The surface at broadford is great and so is the price and numbers of sessions, but it just isn't as good fun for me on that tight little track.
Has anyone been to Calder or Winton? Thoughts on them?

Re: P I ride days
Eastern Creek has run the 4 groups for ages ... at the end of the day they do whatever they want since the competition was run out of town
took me over 1 year before I would give em any $$$ but what choice is there... go without or cough up
& put up with the shite. It was much better before.

Broadford sessions are shorter (15 min vs 20 min) so it works out to be almost the same (105 min vs 100 min). But there's no argument from me about cost and pit access. I was stunned when I found out that you pay for a pit spot at PI because I had only been to Broadford before.

Do you run a business for any other reason???photomike666 wrote: It all seems to be about profit there..
You don't think it costs more to hire the track at PI?photomike666 wrote: What I feel is a crock is $200+ for a ride day, and they still sting you extra for a pit garage. Broadford however, $135, 3 groups, 7 sessions and no extra for the pits..
7 x 15min sessions at Broadford, as has been said, compared to 6 x 20min sessions = 105mins v 120mins! So maybe PI just changed the sessions to 6x20 instead of 8x15?
I expect the PI charge extra for use of the garages also, as aposed to MV who don't.
The track at PI is far superior in every way to Broadford, better track, facilities, etc. The Champions guys do a great job with what they have at Broadford.
If I was going to crash, I would much rather it be at the Island than Broadford, no kitty litter anywhere at Broadford to slow you down, just mountains, chain mesh fencing and hard clay!
that's my 2c

Hmm, my slide on the TZR at Broadford last Sunday was going really smoothly until I hit the rutted dirt and started to tumble. I still came out on my feet and unharmed but it was a bit disorienting.
