oh..on a side note... a mate who owns a 06 R1 forced me to ride it yesterday.... now i have a hatred for R1's..always have.. and after riding a big upright naked, is was as uncomfortable as shit (no more than the cbr1000 tho)... but by god did it feel doughy down low (under 5000rpm)... which makes me understand wot these guys are saying to an extent (shit here we go)... sure the thing wants to rip my arms off when i openned it up.. but as i was riding around "town" and couldnt really test it, but still the launching felt shit... seemed to handle pretty nicely tho
i just felt my zed was gruntier down low..tho i spose thats what they aim for right??
oh..as an aside.. apart from the fact i hate R1's, i rate the crim as more responsive, and the cbr1000 as well.... havent ridden gumby tho...

yeah i agree with u neka about the r1, once it gets up the revs tho it goes bloody crazy i reckon! i had trouble keeping the front wheel down! for the first few gears!!!
