Post by 98ninja »

ok i had a "interested party" in the sale of my fireblade.
here is his email he sent after i sent him some photos

"Hello ,
Thanks for the responce i have seen the the present condition and it is great ... i will like to continue with the purchase .. The price is afordable by me For the said amount $9,200.00 ,So i have contacted my shipping company and make a solid arrangment with them for the pick up and inspections as soon as payment is been recieved by you...They have been my shiping company for a long time and they never dissapoint,They have other valuable vehicle to deliver to me along side with the bike... So they are reliable to handle the pick up.... I'm currently in my company in china.. i have instructed my P/A to issue out the payment to you .. And he his ready to send the payment to you as soon as possible... Only waiting for my futher instructions .... I would want this transactions to be based on trust ..Hope i can trust you with my money Because he will be issuing you $40,000 to you, And as soon as you recieve the payment you get it deposited for cash in your bank . And then you deduct your own money for the bike which is $9,200.00,, And After that you deduct extra $200 for your conpesation runing arround.. Then you will wire the remaning of the money to my shipping company that will be coming for the pick up .. Hope you will beable to do that as a help for me without no stress... as soon as the payment has been recieved ... The money is for the charges for the bike and other valuable vechile i have in thier care... Hope you can understand me better... so your information is required to issue the payment out to you , Such As...................

Scam the scammers. This guy did it and it's a hoot - http://forums.somethingawful.com/showth ... id=1016390.

The essence of scamming the scammer is to take the bait (playing a little dumb can help) and make the scammer believe they're going to do *really* well out of the offer. Send him back some (fake) details (with a legitimate email address obviously) and see if he'll take the bait. You won't get the $40K but you might have a bit of fun with him :D

Aaah that PPP Powerbook anti scam scam is awesome.... damn I would love to be there to see the look on the scammers face when they realised they had paid a few hundred quid for nothing but a ring binder, a bit of tape and glue!

For those who don't want to spend a lifetime reading the thread that Dave posted... here is the quick and dirty..... only a few pages ;) http://www.zug.com/pranks/powerbook/" target="_blank
