That sounds like a great plan, but if the ability is there, keep the 9 as a back up incase the 14 doesn't live up to expectations. If the 14 proves to be the be all and end all, sell the nine.

Couldn't agree more. Bung some Heli-bars on it for touring, and bingo.....

only problem is fuel consumption.....

Why not just bung on some Heli bars on a 14 ??? Gos, I really want a 14 for one reason. Last time we rode down Elliots, I was getting a bit bored on the 9. So I thought I would get something to at least make it interesting!!! ;)

Marty, you sound like you have made your mind up about a 14.. Do agree on the black, hard to keep clean, and thats why i have never gone for black. I reckon that red one sounds the go and at that price you wont go wrong. You will put pipes on it i can assure you, as they have no sound at all and are to much in stealth mode for my liking in the traffic. You have always been in favour of getting the arse off the ground and i do agree that is something that will make it look and handle better. There are a few preloved ones getting around so i am sure you will find one that suits you.. :D

I'm not making a move until I get back from Singapore and Thailand. I was hoping to have it sorted prior to the World Supers, but I get home on the 11th of feb and have to go straight to Sydney for work on the 12th! So I probably won't have time to find, test, negotiate and delivery prior to the departure date for the ride down! So most likely that the red 6k er for 13 grand will be gone. Mind you, I think I am going ot try and buy an 08! I will have to have a good look at the silver first. But it def won't be one with a flame job! :(

Pity the 14's don't come in gunmetal.

The black ones look a bit gay I reckon.. mainly cause of the two chromed 60 litre drums hanging of its ass cheeks...

Prob ok with a more subtle set of cans(must have stolen them of the 12s???)

Silver looks ok and like the blue too.

In a perfect world I'd have the 10 sent to QLD and ride a 14 over for my Atherton/Gillies trip next year.(via SA to stir up neka lol)

Good luck mate 8)

14's already got bars that are high wide and handsome, so they don't need the conversion. The 14 has no 'R', for a good reason !! Get a 14, and you will have your arse handed to you on a plate down Elliotts'.............the cornering clearance is *woeful* compared to your 9 or even a barge !! No shit, its pretty bad, if you jacked it up to buggery well maybe it would be a bit better.......but its no sports bike mate. Great for highway blasting, and roads like Cann Valley.......but Elliott's or Granya ? - forget it. You would be dragging everything and then some. I guess that would make it 'interesting' eh ? ;)

Hope you get a decent rig sorted before the Supers - and keep the 9, start your own 4th Dimension !!!

Bars are actually quite narrow Gos on the 14.. And they arent any higher really, its just that the sitting position is lower than the 12 giving the feeling the bars are quite higher.. Anyway leave the land yachts alone.. :P

As I said Gos, last trip up Elliots was getting a bit boring with you running wide everywhere as usual, so this time, i thought I might take something that offers some form of challenge !!!! ;)

Ok I might have to back track a bit here... :?

Had a GOOD look at the 08 ZX14 limited editions and the luxo barge version at Mach1 Midland..

If i were doing a lot of long distance miles the barge would be the winner hands down (see also 2 wheels article on the big girl)

Took the limited edition ZX14 for a quick spin and was quite impressed given my previous apprehension...This is a bike aimed at the 'busa' buyer but with factory fitted comfort as well!!!

Looks mean as from the front and love the satin paint finish..

As for straight line .....well lets say it impressed me even over the 10 !!! :P

Didn't do too much in any twisty bits it did feel good in the few corners I did.. No 10 but no oil sprinkler either!!

I'm seriously thinking bout one now 8)

Plas had a play on a 14 down thru Chain of ponds when he had a loaner... he reckons it was pretty nimble for a big bike...he was pretty suprised how easy it was to ride...

Yeah pretty much my conclusion too neka .. I found a Busa not real comfortable riding position / seat I thought. The ZX14 has both of these covered and feels to me a little more 'flickable' in corners

My first impressions of the 14 were somewhat jaded with that ugly duckling ass end on em but I guess it grows on ya.Front end looks like a bloody funnel web comin at ya!!
