Down i go

Post by QLDZX6R »

Well what a month, was riding home from work on the 29th Nov when a nice intelligent (huh!) lady did a U-Turn straight into me,down i go,head first into the road.K.O.came to and luckily one of the witnesses was a nurse and stayed talking with me until the Ambos arrived. Can't say enough how much difference this made, definitely kept me with it untill Ambos arrived, and the Ambos were absolutely awesome.Off to Hospital for checks and stayed in for observation.
After that i had a Nightmare as i'm only third party fire and theft insured,so had to chase her down(Police attended and fined her Failure to Give way)
She was driving her partners car who is a car salesman and car is registered to his company, took days of phoning to get insurance details, then threats of legal action to get them to file a claim, all while getting the run around from them (oh you have to get the bike out of tow centre and get 2 quotes and write an official claim)all while in bed with thumping headache and dodgy knee...anyway after 3 weeks of headaches and things going to be done and then being told no thats not correct (different person each time i phoned..lets call them mooncorp for legal reasons)i finally have a payout and have learned
1. Always have FULL INSURANCE
2. Idiots share our roads
3. Mooncorp NEVER ring you back or keep you up to date
4. It pays to be Stubborn
5. Always have FULL INSURANCE
6. I'm never insuring with said insurance company
7. KBC VR1 Helmets are very good
8. Always have FULL INSURANCE

Farewell little Kawasaki, you will be missed......now to start saving for my next bike.

OOPS,didn't think about that title...always been a fan of the 04/05 ZX10R,could take about 3months of saving though for a decent bike.Being grounded is not good!People die in car crashes to so thats no barrier to jumping back on a bike, she was just an idiot and there was nothing i could have done different to stop the accident from happening.
By the way anyone riding around with a KBC helmet on,you can now feel protected after my crash test.

1) glad to hear it got sorted
2) i have a vr2, close enough a model to make me feel good about having it
3) ive never had an insurance co chase me up, unless it was about money i owed them, i ALWAYS have had to chase them about repairs/restitution.
4) hope you've healed up rather well.
